Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the department across the Lower Mainland Medical Imaging (LMMI) health authorities (Fraser Health, Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services and Vancouver Coastal Health).
Under general supervision of the section head and functional direction from the Cardiologist and/or Radiologist, performs technical and related duties involved in cardiac radiological examinations in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and special procedures examinations in CT.
Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, preparing x-ray room and patients for x-ray examinations and special procedures, operating stationary and portable special procedure imaging equipment, processing/archiving digital images, checking images for technical quality, and monitoring equipment performance.This work is framed within VCH’s commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.
Requires certification with the CAMRT and completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography. Candidates must have at least two years of recent related experience and hold current BCLS level CPR certification.
