  • Job Title Registered Nurse Program & Department Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre -> Maternal Child & Youth Program -> Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Regular / Temporary Regular Full / Part Time Part-Time Temporary End Date (Anticipated) Union ONA Requisition Close Date 07 September 2026 FTE .50 Salary Plan / Job Grade $41.15 - $58.98 ( ON_02 ) Job Posting Reason Current Vacancy Job Summary & Requirements The Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 12-basinette unit with 2 infant care centers for stabilization of newborn infants. The NICU provides care for newborns 30 weeks gestation and greater, as well as any newborn that requires special care and expertise. This team consists of neonatologists, paediatricians, neonatal nurses, and other health care professionals. As the Registered Nurse (RN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation. As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
  • Active Neonatal resuscitation Program (NRP) or obtain within 2 months of hire
  • Completion or current enrollment in neonatal specialty certificate preferred
  • S.T.A.B.L.E course an asset
  • ACORN provider an asset
  • Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Preference will be given to applicants with 1-2 years NICU experience.
  • Breastfeeding course or equivalent
  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS
  • Additional formal educational requirements/certifications as required in department
  • Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area
  • Computer literacy in current software applications
  • Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others
  • Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service You will be an ideal candidate for this position if you have:
  • Ability to function independently within the scope of practice
  • Sound problem solving, communication (oral and written), conflict resolution and decision making skills

Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario..

Current BCLS certification..

Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification or completion within two months of hire..
