About the role

The sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality cardiac imaging, including 3D echocardiograms and myocardial strain imaging, while assisting cardiologists during TEE procedures. They must also document technical findings, prepare preliminary reports, and ensure accurate billing for exams and contrast agents.

1. Review patient medical history, clinical indications, physician notes and prior cardiac imaging studies 2. Obtaining high-quality diagnostic images, Doppler data and myocardial strain imaging (GLS) for evaluation of cardiac anatomy, function, valvular disease and hemodynamics 3. Identify abnormal findings and cardiac pathology. 4. Administer ultrasound enhancing agent as needed per established protocols. 5. Assisting cardiologists during Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE). 6. Performing advanced imaging techniques including three-dimensional (3D) echocardiogram. 7. Documenting technical findings and preparing preliminary report for physician interpretation. 8. Complete appropriate billing of exam and contrast as applicable. 9. Adhere to IAC echocardiography imaging standards 10. Maintains professional growth and development through approved seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. 11. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Tech) Perform other work-related duties as requested/directed.

Requires current credentials from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing (CCI).

Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: a. (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer b. (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer

(BLS) – Current Basic Life Support certification

(Preferred) Two (2) years of clinical experience. New grads from an accredited sonography program will be considered.

Physical and mental health appropriate to the demands of the position.

Requirements

Candidates must hold current credentials as an RDCS or RCS from ARDMS or CCI and possess a valid BLS certification. While two years of clinical experience is preferred, new graduates from an accredited sonography program are encouraged to apply.
