Reporting to the Patient Care Manager – Perioperative Care, the nurse collaborates with the inter-professional team to provide nursing practice that is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
preoperative preparation (knowledge of different surgeries and the relevant preparation), review of patient’s health assessment, medication reconciliation and identification of issues potentially impacting the patient’s surgical procedure. The candidate will provide post-operative care to day surgery patients with exemplary post-op teaching involving the patient and family.
Candidates must be a graduate of a recognized nursing program and hold current certification from the College of Nurses of Ontario. A minimum of 5 to 7 years of acute post-operative surgical nursing experience is required.
