Job Profile: Lions Housing Centres Inc. is currently recruiting for Health Care Aide - Casual positions for the Personal Care Home facility. As a Health Care Aide, you are responsible as a key member of the interdisciplinary team, to provide the highest quality of resident care in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and protocols. Care is provided under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position reports directly to the Resident Care Manager. Job Responsibilities:
Assists residents in completing activities of daily living based on individualized care plans with respect, dignity, and compassion.
Supports residents with mobility, transferring, exercises, and positioning in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Closely monitors residents for any changes and reports observations to LPN, RN or RPN.
Documents and maintains resident records/files according to facility guidelines, including administrative tasks related to new admissions, discharges, and deaths and flow sheet documentation (e.g.
MDS tracking, record intake and output, Comfort Care and Close Observation Flow Sheet, Behaviour Mapping).
Maintains cleanliness of residents, room, equipment, and unit in accordance with facility policy, procedures, and guidelines.
Assists residents during mealtimes as indicated.
Provides between meal fluids and snacks and distributes water jugs as required.
Health Care Aide Certificate from an approved Manitoba Government Advanced Education and Training Health Care Aide Course is required Experience in a long-term care setting is an asset. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Good organizational abilities, with a particular emphasis on time management Good interpersonal skills and an expressed willingness to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
