Qualifications

Grade 12 or equivalent required Completion of Medical Device Reprocessing Certificate from a Canadian Accredited Community College. Current registration by the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario (MDRAO) Two years recent Medical Device Reprocessing experience including but not limited to: reprocessing, decontamination, sterilization, inspection, testing, setting up, maintaining, transporting distribution and collection of trays, case carts, medical instruments, equipment, and hardware required Good working knowledge of medical supplies, instruments, hardware, and sterilization equipment required Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology Good command of the English Language (both verbal and written) required Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision Ability to operate, with training, machinery, i.e. sterilizers Ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the job which requires lifting/pushing (up to 25 lbs) and standing (up to 7.5 hours) for extended periods of time Must be able to work with organic and inorganic residues such as blood and other bodily fluids and secretions seen on medical devices Demonstrated interpersonal skills, and the ability to work alone or as a part a team Excellent attendance and discipline free record required An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
