Job Description

Under the direction/supervision of the clinical team, you will perform direct patient services tasks.

Accountabilities

  • Assisting with patient transfer/care, patient temperatures, weighing and utilizing aseptic techniques
  • Accommodation and support services responsibilities including: Comprehensive cleaning, preparation and disinfection of dialysis machines preparation of dialysis prepackages Waste removal, linen and restock of supplies Transporting equipment and supplies with solution and maintenance of a safe environment

Qualifications

Registered with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized Canadian community college Knowledge of aseptic techniques Current CPR Recent related experience with chronically ill patients including knowledge of the complex needs of the dialysis patient Must have recent experience in dialysis machine preparation including priming and disinfecting Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Flexibility to meet unit needs Ability to work well with team members Basic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech system Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required Ability to travel between and work at all Osler sites as required
