Provide supervision and support to individuals with acquired brain injuries through individualized rehabilitation programs. Assist clients with activities of daily living, medication management, and community reintegration while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

With a team of diverse and seasoned healthcare professionals, we customize treatment programs in a variety of environments: 24-hour residential treatment, supported living, community programs, and therapeutic day programs.

We utilize a person-and family-centered care (PFCC) approach, which recognizes the importance of family in a patient’s life and the importance of their active involvement in planning and making decisions on health care, services and treatment, and health system reform.

This approach to care provides respectful, compassionate, culturally safe, and responsive care that meets the needs, values, beliefs, and preferences of the patient, their family, and others identified as significant to their life from diverse backgrounds and settings.

Position Summary

We are currently seeking part-time Rehabilitation Therapists responsible for providing supervision and support to individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABIs). This position is based out of our Etobicoke Residential Rehabilitation site, which is a group-home setting that provides 24-hour care and programming for clients with ABIs and concurrent physical, mental, behavioural, and/or substance use challenges. Rehabilitation Therapists also work with community clients within the GTA. With provision of comprehensive multi-disciplinary programs, clients are engaged in daily functional rehab and meaningful/productive activities. Goals you’ll be supporting may include increasing levels of independence and participation in life activities, community reintegration, social reintegration, and avocational/volunteer activities to name a few! Overall, as a Rehabilitation Therapist, you will be part of a team that endeavors to deliver specialized care in order for clients to make strides in their recovery. Please note: this is a part-time position and hours fluctuate according to client census (no minimum guaranteed hours). Weekend availability is required.

  • Requirements: G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract, access to a vehicle and the proper insurance to transport clients in own vehicle is required (you will be transporting clients within the community) Availability to work on weekends, days, evenings, occasional overnights and some holidays. Experience working with individuals with mental health issues, dual diagnoses, behavioural challenges, chronic pain, or addictions Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, including managing challenging behaviours (e.g., aggression, elopement, disinhibition) Ability to work independently, take direction, and collaborate effectively with a team Willingness and ability to perform personal care, medication assistance, ADLs, administrative tasks, light cleaning, advocacy, and therapy implementation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Physical capability to bend, stretch, lift Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete tasks within set timeframes Technological proficiency Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development Key Responsibilities Work with individuals with acquired brain injuries while assisting them with increasing levels of independence through individualized rehabilitation programs (responsible for up to 5 clients at a particular time) Complete documentation following company and provincial guidelines Follow the designed rehabilitation program as accurately as possible Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs); performing personal care, medication management, various forms of transfer tasks, housekeeping Accompany clients on community outings as needed via external transport services or your own vehicle Utilize appropriate Crisis and Behavioural Management strategies Collect required clinical data through documentation, tracking, etc. Complete research to assist with enhancing client programs Other clinical and administrative duties as assigned Ready to join us?
