The Occupational Therapy Aide is responsible for assessing resident function and developing, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic treatment plans. They work within an interdisciplinary team to promote resident health, prevent injury, and ensure high-quality, ethical care delivery.

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment of function and adaptive behaviour and the treatment and prevention of disorders which affect function or adaptive behaviour in order to develop, maintain, rehabilitate, or augment function of adaptive behaviour in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure.
What You Will Need A good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory board and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapist.
Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Therapy required or completion of Rehabilitation Therapist Diploma.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse population.
Prior experience in continuing care/gerontology preferred.
Advocating for the role of occupational therapy to help improve the lives of residents.
A desire to help others with compassion and empathy.
Excellent organizational skills required; minimum of two years of geriatric clinical experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills with Resident/families and staff required.
Ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team required.
Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
