The Technologist, Breast Imaging works in a computerized environment producing approved breast imaging and diagnostic radiography related procedures as directed, either independently or in collaboration with a radiologist or other physician; applies radiation safety principles and practices to protect patients, staff and the general public; and completes required documentation and administrative tasks.
Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists Certificate in Breast Imaging or Certificate in Breast Imaging - Diagnostic.
Graduation from an approved radiology technology program.
Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.
Three years of recent related radiological experience, including two years performing breast imaging, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of breast imaging protocols, applications, equipment, mammography, positioning, pathology, digital mammography, quality control, and patient care techniques.
Knowledge of PACS and RIS.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical ability to meet job requirements
