About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide holistic, client-centered psychiatric nursing care to adult clients in an acute inpatient setting. Responsibilities include facilitating group programming, participating in research activities, and providing mentorship to students within an inter-professional team.

CCC-3 is an exciting inpatient service within the Crisis and Critical Care (CCC) program at CAMH and is seeking a full-time, temporary (6 Months) Registered Nurse to join the team. CCC-3 is a 25 bed unit that provides support to adult clients experiencing an acute phase of a mental and/or addictions disorder. As a member of the inter-professional team, you will provide holistic client-centered psychiatric nursing care. You will be able to work with clients from diverse populations; contribute to program development; participate in reflective practice sessions; facilitate group programming on the unit; provide mentorship and supervision to students and participate in the research activities for the program.

Successful candidates are well supported by unit leadership team, the Advance Practice Clinical Leader and Manager, during their orientation. Unit orientation focuses on developing and refining the knowledge and skills needed to work safely and effectively on an acute general psychiatric unit and psychiatric intensive care unit. Staff are expected to practice safely and in accordance with the Practice Standards outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. CCC-3 is a great place to practice, learn and grow.

Requirements

Candidates must be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess a current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate. Preference is given to those with CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing and prior experience in mental health or addictions.
