About the role

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide coverage to all areas of the hospital.

The successful candidate will be motivated, self-directed and a key member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team with defined roles focused on quality patient care and patient flow. The successful candidate will be responsible to provide excellent care to a diverse acute medical patient population in a fast-paced setting. New regular part-time employees hired into this department will be eligible for the Bonus Incentive payment of up to $4000.00 payable at established internals over the course of the first 2 years of continuous active employment. What you’ll be doing

  • Member of the CCOT team, responsible for responding to various codes within the organization.
  • Responsible for the setup, maintenance, and monitoring of respiratory equipment. Providing Respiratory Therapy coverage in the birthing unit, critical care units, emergency department, wards, and the pulmonary function lab.

What you bring

  • RRT registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists in the General Class
  • Practice according to the standards and guidelines set out by the College
  • BCLS and NRP required
  • ACLS preferred
  • Experience with asthma and COPD patient education preferred
  • Knowledge of adult education principles is an asset
  • Experience working with paediatrics and neonates preferred
  • Participates in the CRTO’s Quality Assurance Program
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated problem assessment skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Demonstrated individual leadership skills

Requirements

Candidates must be registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists in the General Class and hold BCLS and NRP certifications. Experience in acute medical settings and a commitment to diversity and inclusion are essential for this role.
