About the role

The Program Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to an interdisciplinary team at the OSI Clinic, including managing patient referrals and appointments. They are also responsible for transcribing medical documentation, maintaining filing systems, and coordinating departmental meetings.

Salary Details The salary range for this position is CAD $29.72/Hr. - CAD $29.72/Hr.

Job Summary Come work as a Program Assistant with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) in the Mental Health and Substance Use at the Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Clinic in Vancouver, BC!

Within the context of a client service culture and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, works as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide administrative/clerical support.

Receives verbal/written referrals for new patients/clients, answers telephones and greets clients, coordinates patient appointments and responds to general inquiries.

Arranges meetings and attends departmental meetings to record notes or take minutes.

Sets up and maintains filing systems, maintains timekeeping records and completes on-line purchase requisitions for equipment and supplies.

Types/transcribes a variety of healthcare documentation, medical dictation/consultations, correspondence, reports and presentations utilizing intermediate word processing and spreadsheet software.

Qualifications

Education & Experience Grade 12, supplemented with courses in medical transcription and two (2) years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to type 50 wpm. Ability to deal with others effectively. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to organize work. Ability to operate related equipment. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. Requirements
