Today our uniquely integrated health care organization includes Lakeland Long Term Care, six Nursing Stations delivering care to rural communities, management of District ambulance services and dispatch, and a full range of in-patient and out-patient programs associated with a 90-bed acute care hospital. About the Opportunity The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) administers direct nursing care for patients within the scope of their license with the College of Nurses of Ontario; provides indirect patient care by ensuring the proper maintenance, cleaning and assembly of equipment and facilities; works cooperatively with other health team members while maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The hours of work are all shifts, including weekends. This job posting is for a current vacancy.   • You will also need to have:
  • Successful completion of an approved RPN program;
  • A current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Completion of Medication Administration for R.P.N.’s, medical asepsis, catheterization and IV training/education, combined with previous experience utilizing these skills;
  • Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, performance levels, disciplinary history and positive work references;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs;
  • Courses in Behaviour Approach (such as P.I.E.C.E.S, GPA or restorative), would be an asset;
  • Previous experience in Nursing Skills pertinent to Acute Care, would be an asset.

Successful completion of an approved Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) program..

Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario..
