About the role

The Unit Aide is responsible for maintaining and ordering medical supplies and linens within the Emergency Department. They also ensure that all medical equipment is clean and fully functional for patient care.

Right now we’re looking for a Unit Aide to work in our Emergency Department.

Humber River Health’s Emergency Department delivers care to over 110,000 patients annually, providing timely, compassionate emergency treatment to patients and families.

Responsibilities

Unit Aide duties in Emergency Department. Maintaining and ordering of supplies in the rooms and department. Stocks rooms with required supplies and linen. Cleans equipment and ensures equipment is functional. Ensures that sufficient supplies are on hand for patient care until the next ordering shift. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent. CSAO or Sterile Supply Processing certificate preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial. Hospital experience preferred. Good knowledge of medical supplies and equipment. Good command of the English Language, both verbal and written. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to set priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Physically able to push stretchers, lift and store linen and surgical supplies, clean stretchers. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Excellent attendance and discipline free record required. An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset. Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess good command of the English language. Previous hospital experience and a Sterile Supply Processing certificate are considered preferred qualifications.
