About the role

The Adjuvant assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care and therapy programs in collaboration with medical and therapy staff. They promote teamwork across departments to ensure coordinated care for residents referred to Therapy Services.

We are hiring an Adjuvant to join our growing team at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre. We are seeking a Temporary full-time occupational therapy assistant to provide support for our residents in our Long-Term Care.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $26.83 to $28.03 per hour, with 7.5-hour shifts. Additionally, you will have access to the HOOPP Pension Plan and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Description

Performs the function of an Adjuvant in assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating all assigned resident care and therapies in collaboration with the Medical Director, Physical Therapist / Occupational Therapist, physicians and nursing staff to coordinate programmes for the residents referred to Therapy Services. Adheres to established standards of Adjuvant practice. Promotes teamwork with Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Resident Care Aides, and Therapy staff, physicians and personnel from other departments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Certificate Adjuvant training Course for staff from Charitable and MUNICIPAL homes for the Aged in Ontario required, or certificate/diploma in Occupational Therapy assistant and Physical Therapy assistant or recognized educational credentials appropriate to the therapies department.
  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma
  • Fluency in both official languages would be an asset

Requirements

Candidates must hold a certificate in an Adjuvant training course for homes for the aged or a diploma in Occupational/Physical Therapy assistance. A secondary school graduation diploma is also required for this position.
