4-Sep-26About the Opportunity Under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, the Medical Laboratory Technical Specialist performs analyses and procedures offered by the division using appropriate methodologies and quality assurance techniques. The Laboratory Technical Specialist must have the capability to conduct all aspects of procedural and instrument troubleshooting, method evaluation, establishment and maintenance of quality assurance and safety programs, as well as interpret the technical acceptability of test results. The Laboratory Technical Specialist demonstrates supervisory skills and has some administrative responsibilities in designated areas of the division. Working conditions include exposure to chemicals on a daily basis. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times as deemed essential by the Medical Laboratory Technologist Code of Conduct. About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

Must be a graduate of an approved program in Medical Technology plus three years experience in a Lab setting (Anatomical Pathogy preferred) Must be licensed with NSRMLS and registered with CSMLS Histology experience preferred Experience with Cerner LIS preferred Previous experience with Quality Assurance initiatives preferred Must have demonstrated customer service skills; leadership skills; excellent organization and technical skills; as well as good decision-making skills Ability to communicate effectively and professionally Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly Compensation and Benefits $38.91 - $49.63 hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
