Job Description

Under the direction of the Health Services Manager, the Registered Nurse with Additional Authorized Practice [RN(AAP)] will be responsible for providing nursing services including the diagnoses and treatment of limited common medical disorders according to the Clinical Decision Tools (CDT) and in conjunction with their clinical knowledge and judgment; in compliance with the RN with Additional Authorized Practice (RN AAP) Practice Standards and with Saskatchewan Health Authority policies and procedures. Experience in the utilization of electronic medical records is required.

Knowledge and Abilities

Current clinical knowledge and skill are required in a broad range of areas.

Demonstrates knowledge of the limited common medical disorders according to CDTs

Ability to diagnose/treat common medical under RN AAP Practice Standards.

Ability to perform minor surgical and invasive procedures as appropriate.

Ability to order, perform and interpret reports and diagnostic tests.

Ability to prescribe and dispense drugs as appropriate.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and be registered or eligible for registration with the CRNS as an RN(AAP). Required experience includes at least one year in an Emergency Room and two years of related clinical experience, along with valid certifications in CTAS, ACLS, and PALS.
