Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides supervision to students in formal clinical practicums. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

  • Knowledge and skill in community outreach and crisis interventions
  • Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups
  • Knowledge in recovery philosophy

  • Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and have at least one year of post-graduate experience in adult community mental health and addiction services. A valid driver's license and registration with the appropriate licensing body are also required.
