General areas of service include: direct patient care, emotional support, advocacy, community relations and public relations. Previous experience working in a community or hospital-based setting, providing physical, emotional and social support to the patient. Minimum grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required. Successful completion of a recognized Heath Care Aide Course required.
Must successfully complete the CPR for Health Care Providers course within three months of employment.
Must successfully complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Program (in-house) within three months of employment.
Advocacy and interview skill training will be provided within the probation period.
First Aide training preferred.
