The Resolution Support Health Worker provides culturally grounded, trauma-informed emotional and wellness support to Inuit individuals, families, and community members experiencing mental wellness challenges, grief, crisis, trauma, intergenerational impacts, life transitions, or other social and emotional concerns.
The incumbent supports clients in accessing safe, respectful, and appropriate healing and community-based wellness services, while drawing on Inuit culture, values, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit principles.
This position requires basic knowledge of emotional support, crisis response, community resources, and holistic approaches to mental wellness, with a strong emphasis on Inuit culture.
Responsibilities
- · Provide culturally safe, client-centered services that respect the strengths, values, experiences, and goals of Inuit clients and their families. · Deliver emotional and supportive interventions to Residential School Survivors, Intergenerational Survivors, and their family members, recognizing the impacts of historical and intergenerational trauma. · Conduct intakes and assessments to identify client needs, risks, strengths, and service pathways. · Develop, review, and update healing plans as needed. · Track client information, referrals, and service activity. · Prepare quarterly, annual, and funder-related reports. · Apply Inuit cultural knowledge and IQ principles when supporting clients, families, and community members. · Contribute to culturally responsive programs, services, relationships, and practices that reflect the organization’s role in serving Inuit clients. · Seek guidance, learning, and collaboration as needed to ensure services remain respectful, relevant, and grounded in Inuit ways of knowing. · Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to support holistic, culturally responsive care and positive client outcomes. · Participate in regular team meetings to review client needs, service plans, relevant updates, and follow-up supports. · Communicate with team members, supervisors, and internal programs to support timely, respectful, and coordinated services. · Contribute to case discussions by sharing observations, identifying concerns, and supporting culturally appropriate care planning. · Support continuity of care by documenting information, following up on agreed actions, and connecting clients to appropriate resources. · Maintain professional, ethical, and confidential practices in accordance with organizational policies, professional standards, and applicable legislation. · Become familiar with and comply with all of TI’s policies and procedures; and · Any other duties assigned to you as may reasonably be required in line with the Position’s main responsibilities. Education, Qualifications and Skills: Community college in Social Service Diploma/Community Service Worker/Counselling is preferred. Undergraduate degree in Click Social Work or Counselling is preferred. Minimum 2 Years of experience in Helping Profession such as counsellor or another role Must have basic knowledge of the counselling process Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, video-conferencing platforms; Good communication skills and ability to take initiative; Excellent group facilitation skills Ability to collaborate Understanding and ability to work with trauma and addiction Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural team environment; and Fluency in English required, fluency in Inuktitut is an asset. **Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position. - Salary and Benefits Salary range is $46,000 to $48,000 Annually TI provides paid sickness, personal and family sickness leave days, and a 24/7 confidential Employee and Family Assistance Plan.
