We are seeking a dedicated Adult Protective Service Worker to join our team. If you’re passionate about helping others and thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, we invite you to bring your skills to a team that values innovation, compassion, and community impact.

What You’ll Be Doing Accepting requests for service from Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) and conducting assessments of individuals to determine goals and maintain independent living.

Working in collaboration with other community services to identify needs of those receiving support and making appropriate referrals while following the principle of individual’s right to self-determination.

Meeting and working with individuals regularly to realize established goals and monitoring these goals on an ongoing basis.

Working with individuals to assist them in acquiring the skills and resources necessary to live independently in the community.

Maintaining accurate and complete client records and following agency’s policy on timely documentation for the production of required statistics on a monthly basis.

The APSW may advocate along with, or on behalf of people whose rights to services, or opportunities may actually or potentially be comprised.

This includes advising people of their choices and/or rights and responsibilities and/or potential consequences.

The APSW may provide assistance in searching for housing and planning to relocate.

Assisting individuals with navigating bureaucratic procedures that can be confusing and overwhelming, connecting to various services, and dealing with the judicial system (i.e., getting legal aid/lawyer, going to court, involving police, etc.).

Other kinds of personal support as required.

What You Bring University Degree or College Diploma (Bachelor of Social Work is preferred) Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of developmental services (experience working with adults with disabilities is an asset) Demonstrated knowledge of community support services, social service systems, and relevant provincial legislation.

Excellent assessment, critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing program needs.

Strong documentation and computer skills, including experience maintaining electronic client records.

Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License, access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of valid automobile insurance with coverage meeting Ontario's minimum legal requirements.

Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Standard First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset.

Job Type: | Shift Schedule: Full-time Permanent 35hrs Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm (some evenings and weekends may be required) Pay Rate: $50,108 Location: 1770 Langlois Ave. Windsor ON N8X4M5

Requirements

Candidates must possess a university degree or college diploma and at least 5 years of experience in developmental services. A valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening are also required.
