Under the direction of the Manager or designate and in collaboration as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse, Full Scope performs assessments, plans and provides personal care, and performs nursing procedures. The Licensed Practical Nurse, Full Scope operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, and according to agency operating policies and standards and unit specific protocols.
Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing Licensed Practical Nurse registrant.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, multidisciplinary team members, and the public.
Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care.
Knowledge and competency to work at full scope of practice, including medication administration.
Ability to operate related equipment and physically carry out the duties of the position.
Perinatal positions require qualifying perinatal education and breastfeeding training or recent acute perinatal experience, plus current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
Mental Health and Substance Use positions require additional education specified by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
Hip and Knee Clinic positions require two years of recent related surgical and preadmission clinic experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
