The Social Worker will provide clinical assessment, counseling, and support to Autistic children and their families within a multi-disciplinary team. They are responsible for case management of complex cases and collaborating with community service providers.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team and within the context of a family centred care approach, the role of the Social Worker will include assessment, counseling, education and support to Autistic children and adolescents up to the age of 18, and their families. . Case management responsibilities will be required for those children, youth and families with complex needs. The role will require collaboration with other health care providers as appropriate as well as community service providers. The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and strong communication skills are essential to the role.

Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work 2.
Current Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Certified Social Work and Social Service Workers 3.
Expertise in a range of therapeutic modalities and interventions including evidence-based therapeutic practice in assessment and brief treatment of children, youth and their families 4.
Familiarity with the Mental Health Act, Consent to Treatment Act, Child and Family Services Act 5.
Demonstrated knowledge of working with and supporting the needs of children, youth and families with a range of complex needs; experience with Autistic children and youth is considered an asset 6.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of community services and resources and knowledge of referral process required for accessing resources 7.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal team work, leadership and communication skills 8.
Proven ability for independent action, initiative, problem-solving, organization and prioritization within a fast paced and changing environment 9.
Demonstrated proficiency in documentation related to assessment, consultation and/or treatment services 10.
Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS) 11.
Fluency in French would be an asset
Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work and be registered with the Ontario College of Certified Social Work and Social Service Workers.
