The Rehabilitation Aide implements mobilization and rehabilitation programs for residents as directed by a physiotherapist. They also assist in integrating these routines into recreation programs and monitor resident functional and cognitive changes.

The Rehabilitation Assistant is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members.
Following the rehabilitation and mobilization program of residents as directed by the treating physiotherapist.
Incorporating rehabilitation routines into recreation programs as directed by Director of Resident Programming.
Providing teaching and demonstrating methods of proper rehabilitation and exercise to residents, families and team members.
Submitting assessments for annual Care Conferences or Individual Program Plan.
Maintaining an inventory of equipment, tools and supplies and report malfunctioning equipment and supply needs to the Director of Resident Programming.
Providing input into planning and evaluating rehabilitation / recreation programs by reporting observations and resident feedback to the Director of Resident Programming.
Reporting and recording any concerns or changes in the resident’s functional and cognitive behaviour to the direct care team.
Maintaining an attending roster for statistical purposes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Grade 12 graduate.
Recreation therapy or rehab aide degree/diploma is required.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Long Term Care.
Valid First Aid Certificate including CPR-C.
All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
