Position Overview Working as a member of the Health Records Team the incumbent is responsible but not limited to processing which includes sorting and distributing mail and reports and placing reports in Terminal Digit (TD) order, date stamping and filing reports within the health record. Filing and pulling health records. Utilizing computer systems to obtain information necessary to retrieve and file reports & health records and update health record locations. Experience
Six (6) months experience in a hospital Health Records Department within the last two years OR. One (1) year medical office experience within the last two years. Terminal Digital Filing experience required. Experience working with both electronic and paper health records preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. Successful completion of a recognized Medical/Surgical Office Assistant or Health Information Management program preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Terminal Digit (TD) filing required. Typing/keyboarding skills (minimum 30 wpm). Medical terminology required (pass mark 75%). Operational knowledge of computer terminals required.
Successful challenge of the CHIMA National Certification examination, with a valid CHIMA certificate, current active CHIMA membership preferred.
