Job Description

The Registered Nurse will function in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. Responsibilities include education and preparation of clients (Pediatric and Adult) undergoing a variety of Medical Imaging procedures. The RN will assist the Radiologist/Specialist during procedures and perform direct nursing assessment and care as appropriate to ensure the safety of clients undergoing procedures. The RN will prepare for and respond to fluctuating workloads, unexpected critical situations, and the requirement to work in all modalities of Medical Imaging. The RN will collaborate with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to continually evaluate the client's care and condition while in the Medical Imaging Departments.

  • One (1) of which must be experience in the Adult Endoscopy clinical area
  • Experience in critical care is an asset
  • Min 1 yr recent clinical experience in Critical Care, MI, OR, or IR
  • Previous experience must include at least 1 year in Emergency nursing
  • Education
  • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
  • Other Education and Training
  • Certification in Critical Care, OR, or equivalent in Interventional Rad an asset
  • Completion of Vascular Access certification within 2 years of commencement

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Skilled in the initiation/management of IV therapy & medications
  • Skilled in clinical techniques/use of equipment & supplies in IR setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current SHA Vascular Access protocols and policies
  • In depth knowledge of pharmacology & client reactions to procedural sedation
  • Skilled with cardiac monitoring equipment & related medications for imaging
  • Other Information
  • Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (PALS) an asset
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate (ACLS) an asset

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an approved School of Nursing and hold or be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan. The role requires at least one year of recent clinical experience in critical care, medical imaging, operating room, or emergency nursing.
