Life Share Caregiver Opportunity (Arabic-Speaking)

We are seeking a compassionate and committed individual or couple to open their home and provide Life Share support to an adult with diverse support needs. This is a unique opportunity to build a meaningful relationship while supporting someone to live a full life within a welcoming home environment.

The individual would benefit from a fully self-contained basement suite and is looking for a home where his privacy and independence can be respected while ensuring he has access to the support he needs. We are also open to speaking with applicants who may be willing to relocate to a home that can accommodate this arrangement.

About the Role

As a Life Share Caregiver, you will play an important role in supporting the individual's daily living needs while promoting choice, independence, self-determination, and community inclusion. This is a live-in, 24-hour support arrangement; however, the individual sleeps well through the night and receives staffing supports during the day.

The successful caregiver(s) will: · Support the individual's daily health, safety, and well-being

· Foster independence, personal choice, and self-determination

· Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home environment

· Support community participation and meaningful activities

· Maintain open communication with the individual's support network

· Have a valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle

Ideal Qualifications

We would love to hear from applicants who: · Have experience supporting individuals with autism and complex support needs

· Practice trauma-informed approaches to care and support

· Speak Arabic fluently and can communicate effectively with the individual

· Understand and appreciate Arab culture, traditions, and family values

· Can prepare traditional Arabic meals and engage in culturally meaningful activities

· Can support opportunities for connection to the local Arabic community

· Respect and support the individual's Christian faith, which is important to both him and his family

Home Environment Preferences

To support the individual's comfort and personal preferences, we are seeking

· A single male caregiver

· A single male caregiver with a roommate

· A husband-and-wife caregiver team

Having some or all male support is important to the individual and will be given strong consideration during the matching process.

About the Individual

This gentleman enjoys spending time with family, watching Arabic television and entertainment, drawing, spending time in nature, and relaxing in his own personal space. As he continues to build community connections and broaden his experiences, it is important that he has caregivers who can communicate comfortably with him and support him in ways that honour his cultural background, personal preferences, and goals.

Salary Range

This is a contracted position, contract range is very good- lots of room for negotiation.
