This position works as part of an interdisciplinary health care team. Under the direction of the Provincial HealthLine 811 Clinical Manager, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to the community. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs. This includes health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certification. Additionally, three years of experience as an RN in primary, public, or acute care is required along with a Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate.
