About the role

The Registered Nurse administers medical and therapeutic programs while providing emergency care for stabilization of trauma or critically ill patients. They also develop individualized nursing care plans and foster an environment that helps clients maintain optimal health.

Regular Full-Time Position - (1.0 FTE)

This position is at the L09 level with an hourly pay range of $49.73 - $66.42

Reporting to the Operations Leader, the Registered Nurses administer and implement the medical and therapeutic programs ordered by the physician, provide emergency care for stabilization of multiple trauma or critically ill medical/obstetrical patients until medical evacuation can be arranged, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans. As team members, through the provision of treatment services and health education, the incumbent fosters an environment in which clients can achieve and maintain optimal health. Duties include: providing inpatient and outpatient/emergency care for the patient; assisting with planning; implementing and evaluating a comprehensive family service; and performing other related duties which contribute to the optimal functioning of the unit.

The successful candidate should have a Diploma/Baccalaureate degree in Nursing; be currently registered with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA); and have current C.P.R certification, a valid Yukon Driver’s License and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate. Certification in A.C.L.S., N.R.P, and T.N.C.C would be desirable. A minimum of (2) two – (3) three years of experience in acute care nursing is required for this position. Emergency Nursing experience would be considered an asset.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and be registered with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association. A minimum of two to three years of acute care nursing experience and current CPR certification are required.
