Investigates, assesses, and intervenes in matters related to Adult Abuse, neglect, or Self-Neglect as a Designated Responder under the Adult Guardianship Act.
Collaborates with the Ministry of Children and Families on child protection matters

Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, performs professional social work of moderate complexity. Assists patients and their families with practical problems and personal concerns and consults with hospital staff and community agencies regarding the psychosocial aspects of the patients' situation.
Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) from an accredited school of Social Work (M.S.W. preferred).
Current full registration with the BC College of Social Workers.
Related social work experience, preferably in a medical setting.
Demonstrated clinical competence.
Ability to use judgment and work independently with consultation and guidance available.
Knowledge of community resources.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize and organize workload.
Commitment to continued professional growth.
Working knowledge of relevant legislation (Mental Health Act, Adult Guardianship Act, Health Care Consent Act).
Must be registered with the British Columbia College of Social Workers to work in hospitals in B.C..
CRC required for professional registration (criminal record check requirement indicated)
