About the Role

Note that this is an independent contractor position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate physical abilities, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as electrotherapy or hydrotherapy.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to optimize recovery and functional improvement.
• Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and ensure holistic treatment approaches.
• Educate patients and caregivers on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and strategies to maintain physical health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Participate in continuous professional development to stay current with advances in physiotherapy techniques and healthcare regulations.

• The required skills enable the physiotherapist to accurately assess patient conditions and design effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Strong communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills are used daily to adapt therapies based on patient progress and response to treatment.
• Preferred skills such as specialized certifications enhance the ability to address complex cases and provide advanced therapeutic interventions.
• Proficiency with digital tools supports efficient documentation and tracking of patient outcomes, contributing to high-quality care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
• Current registration and licensure with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association or relevant provincial regulatory body.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in physiotherapy practice, preferably in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting.
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic modalities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, or sports injuries.
• Certification in specialized physiotherapy techniques such as manual therapy, neurological rehabilitation, or cardiopulmonary physiotherapy.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital documentation tools.
• Additional training or certification in pain management or occupational health.
