Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager of Clinical Integration, Primary Health Care, the Nurse Clinician will work in collaboration with the Medical Health Officer, Network Supervisors, Primary Health Care services, leadership and staff. The Nurse Clinician is an expert clinical nurse in the specialty of Public Health. In collaboration with Primary Health Care Managers, Supervisors/leads and Primary Health Care Network Supervisors, the Nurse Clinician is responsible for staff orientation, certification, continuing education, keeping the Public Health Nurse Orientation program updated, developing clinical pathways for practice in Immunization, Family-Child and School age areas, and participating in development of policies and procedures relating to Immunization, Family-Child and School practice. The incumbent will participate in program planning and evaluation. Responsibilities may include assisting with clinical program development for Travel Health and Communicable Disease as needed.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and have at least five years of public health nursing experience. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate and registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) are also required.
