About the role

Support daily operations of the facility and provide physical, emotional, and social supports to clients in accordance with care schedules.

Assist clients with development of life skills (hygiene, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, financial obligations, appointments, interpersonal skills) using demonstration and modeling.

Administer medication and provide medication reminders in accordance with established policy.

Participate in and oversee client-focused social and recreational activities.

Identify and connect clients to community services and resources and provide related information.

Assist with activities of daily living including feeding, lifts and transfers, grooming, and toileting.

Accompany clients on outings such as appointments, shopping, and leisure activities.

Complete and maintain related records and documentation (statistics, progress reports, daily logs).

Receive and respond to client feedback, inquiries, and complaints as required.

Perform housekeeping duties and support a safe, well maintained, and healthy building environment.

Complete regular rounds of the facility as scheduled throughout shifts.

Debrief with incoming shifts to ensure detailed transfer of information (e.g., concerns).

Provide direction to volunteers as required.

Perform other related duties as assigned

Works to ensure a safe, well maintained, and healthy environment.

Responsibilities

Client Services Provides feedback and input regarding clients’ needs, performance, and progress In accordance with established care plans, assists clients with the development of life skills such as maintaining personal hygiene, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, meeting financial obligations, making and keeping appointments, and interpersonal skills by methods such as demonstrating and modeling appropriate actions Administers medication to clients and provides medication reminders, in accordance with established policy Participates in and oversees various client-focused social and recreational activities Identifies available social, economic, recreational, and educational services and resources in the community that will meet clients’ needs. Provides clients with related information Assists clients with activities of daily living such as feeding, lifts and transfers, grooming, and toileting Accompanies clients on outings such as appointments, shopping, and leisure activities Completes and maintains related records and documentation such as statistics, progress reports, and daily logs Receives client feedback, and inquiries and complaints, and responds as required Performs housekeeping duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, and laundry Required to debrief with incoming shifts to ensure detailed transfer of information (e.g. concerns) Support a safe, well maintained and healthy building environment Complete regular rounds of facility as scheduled throughout shifts Provides direction to volunteers as required Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

Grade 12.
