The Registered Practical Nurse will provide patient care and education across various acute medical, surgical, palliative, and CCC units. They are responsible for floating to different hospital sites based on daily staffing needs and project assignments.

Job Description

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, you will be responsible to provide patient care and education within your scope of practice in a variety of acute medical, CCC, palliative and surgical patient care areas. You will be provided in advance with a six week working schedule.

Accountabilities

Float to units as determined by daily staffing needs, which includes reassignment of units during a shift at all Osler sites Maybe required to work temporary unit placements or project work assignments for either the medical or surgical units

Qualifications

Current registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO Current CPR certificates required Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension) Recent experience within two years of working in acute medicine and/or surgery Flexibility, willingness and ability to float to acute medical, palliative, CCC and surgical units as required on a daily basis Ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and has demonstrated teamwork abilities Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Understanding of the issues related to the various specialties in medical/surgical nursing as they apply to patients, families and the multi-disciplinary team Demonstrated ability to work in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in acute care medicine/surgery Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to care for complex medical patients with stable, predictable outcomes Specialty clinical experiences an asset Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Services, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration Will be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Additional Information

Hours: Currently Days/Nights, 8 and 12 hour shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements) Salary: Minimum: $36.08 per hour Maximum: $39.02 per hour Internal application deadline: August 14, 2026 #FT #LI-RB1 Osler values inclusivity and diversity in the workplace. Requirements
