Provide therapeutic nutritional care to Home & Community Care clients at high nutritional risk in a variety of living situations within VIHA.

Reporting to the Manager or designate, and working as part of a interdisciplinary team, provides therapeutic nutritional care to Home & Community Care clients, at high nutritional risk, in a variety of living situations within VIHA, In addition, consultation may be provided to operators and staff/caregivers in areas such as Supportive Living, Contracted Home Support Agencies, private homes and designated group homes. Performs duties covered by Restricted Activities A and C. Travel is a requirement of this job. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and requires the use of a personal vehicle.
Baccalaureate Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and Dietetic Internship from a Dietitians of Canada-accredited facility.
Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Dietitian.
Eligible for membership with Dietitians of Canada (DC).
Two years of clinical nutrition experience within the past five years in Home Care, or one year in acute care plus one year in Home care or Residential Care.
Proof of competency in Restricted Activity A & C and must be registered with Restricted Activity A & C.
Valid BC Driver's License.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently, organize workload, establish priorities, and exercise sound judgment.
Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Knowledge of community agencies and resources.
Physical ability to carry out duties and ability to operate computers and related software
