About the role

The Physician Assistant will perform clinical assessments, manage diabetes and endocrine therapies, and provide patient education. Additionally, they will serve as a sub-investigator for clinical research studies, ensuring compliance with research protocols.

Our 50+ Endocrinologists, many of whom are nationally renowned for their areas of expertise, are supported by an interdisciplinary team of highly qualified professionals.

Our growing team is looking for a Physician Assistant to join us on a permanent full-time basis supporting our LMC Brampton clinic (2979 Bovaird Drive East. Brampton, ON L6S 0C6).

About the Opportunity LMC offers an established team of 4 Physicians Assistants, as well as full training and support from Endocrinologists and our PA Program Lead. Our PA program offers a professional development fund and education days, plus in-house learning opportunities for all team members, regardless of years of experience. In this role, you will provide medical care in the areas of endocrinology and diabetes under the supervision of an endocrinologist. You will also provide care as a sub-investigator in clinical research studies in diabetes, fulfilling the responsibilities of Good Clinical Practice.

Highlights

Medical directives are in place which are reviewed and updated annually. Professional development fund and education days are provided along with many opportunities to attend Endocrine specific conferences and rounds to enhance your knowledge and at the same time earn CPD credits. Our current PAs are also mentors to 1st and 2nd year PA students. There is a full training program for all new hires irrespective of years of experience as a PA. PAs are eligible for a competitive salary based on years of experience, as well as an Annual Performance Bonus program (eligibility based on minimum 1 year of performance in the role).

Hours of

Work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week- no shift work, no nights, some Saturdays, along with paid days off for holidays.

About You Language skills

Hindi or Urdu & Punjabi are an asset University-based accredited Physician Assistant training program (Bachelor or Master level). Must be a member in good standing of the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA). Experience practicing as a Physician Assistant is considered an asset, however we welcome new grads to our team! Ready to expand your expertise and grow in the specialty of Endocrinology Practice.

Responsibilities

Patient Care Perform the usual features of complete clinical assessments of patients which includes but is not limited to: Obtain history, perform physical assessments, request, and review diagnostic testing. Patient education in Diabetes management and advanced skills. Manage, counsel, and educate patients through the implementation and adjustment of all diabetes and other endocrine therapies and monitoring systems. Consult supervising physician as necessary and perform all patient care activities as per medical directives. Research Act as Sub-Investigator and coordinator for research studies. Conduct study patient physicals, visits, perform queries, enter data, and follow all requirements under the Research Standard Operating Procedures.

Compensation range

The expected compensation for the position is $105K-$110K/annually. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's credentials, experience and geographic location in which the position is located.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program and be a member in good standing of the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants. While experience is considered an asset, the role is open to new graduates.
