Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, the Social Worker - BSW - Senior is responsible for providing psychosocial consultation, clinical assessment, clinical intervention, and counseling services to patients and families. This position actively participates in department education programs and is expected to adopt the interdisciplinary model that defines the department and participate in a manner that embraces this model. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No

  • Ability to carry out duties in a manner that meets clients’ safety needs
  • Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies
  • Ability to establish working relationships with clients during times of distress
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Strong initiative and independent judgement to solve complex problems
  • Ability to take large amount of complex information and convey it concisely
