About the role

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides specialized care across critical care, emergency, and inpatient units at Juravinski Hospital. They also have the opportunity to join the Critical Care Response Team after gaining sufficient experience.

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Juravinski Hospital, the assignments span a variety of specialized areas; including level 3 critical care, level 2 step down, emergency department and inpatient wards. In addition to working within these areas, once the required experience is obtained, opportunities exist to complete advanced training to work within the Critical Care Response Team (RACE).

Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy Current Registration, in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) Successful completion of the RT Exam, Health Professional Testing Canada (HPTC) Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Demonstrated proficiency in working with patients, families, peers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in an effective, professional and caring manner Demonstrated organizational skills, leadership abilities and ongoing professional development Ability to perform well in high stress situations Demonstrated current knowledge of cardiac and respiratory arrest procedures EPIC hospital information system experience preferred

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and hold current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO). Additionally, they must possess BCLS certification and demonstrate proficiency in cardiac and respiratory arrest procedures.
