Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the Opportunity Reporting to the Program Manager of the Medical-Surgical and Heart Health department within the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio the Physiotherapist is a member of a clinical team, and collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. The physiotherapist assesses diagnoses and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and pain management. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

Masters's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited university Current or eligible for registration in a Resident capacity with the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Regulator and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS) Thorough knowledge of Physiotherapy practice, with an interest in program development and evaluation skills Experience in motivational interviewing and facilitating health behaviour change is an asset Effective teaching and patient education skills Demonstrated accountability Effective promotion of patient self-management skills Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation Demonstrated leadership abilities Demonstrated planning, organization and time management skills Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy and be registered or eligible for registration in a Resident capacity with the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Regulator. Additionally, applicants require current BCLS certification and strong communication and clinical skills.
