About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide holistic, person-centred clinical support to adults with mental health and addiction needs within a mobile multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing support plans, and collaborating with community partners to facilitate recovery and community reintegration.

Registered Nurse – Waikato Services Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week) Must be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand Service operates 24 hours, 7 days a week: you must be able to work on a rotating roster of AM and PM shifts.

About The Service | Ko Te Whare O Waikato Services Our Waikato services provide individually tailored community-based mental health and addiction support for adults that is person-centred and focused on recovery.

We operate an integrated service that brings together Community and Peer Support Workers along with Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Counsellors, and AOD Practitioners to deliver holistic rehabilitation and support.

The service receives referrals from Te Whatu Ora’s Inpatient Coordination Team and supports people with complex mental health and addiction needs, including those experiencing higher‑risk substance‑use patterns.

Our mobile multi-disciplinary team works at speed across the region, responding dynamically to changing needs and supporting tāngata whaiora in a variety of community settings.

About The Role | Nga mahi We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team.

You will play a key clinical role within the service, working alongside community and peer support workers to ensure safe and effective care.

This role involves: Providing holistic, person-centred support using recovery and strengths-based approaches Working collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team and community partners as you support tāngata whaiora to regain independence and reintegrate into the community Conducting assessments, developing and implementing support plans, and ensuring safe and effective care Bringing your professional clinical expertise to help people navigate challenges with mental health, addiction, and social wellbeing You will have | Nga Pukenga Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (please note that this is REQUIRED; your application will be declined if you are not registered to practice in NZ).

Knowledge of mental health rehabilitation and recovery approaches; experience working with co-occurring addictions, dual-diagnoses, and/or cognitive difficulties; and knowledge of Māori health approaches (strongly preferred) A valid/current work visa allowing you to accept permanent full-time work (40 hours per week); residency; or citizenship A Full NZ Driver's Licence (required- please note that this role involves a lot of driving so you must be a confident diver and if you do not meet this requirement your application will be immediately declined) Strong skills in recovery‑focused, strengths‑based, and trauma‑informed approaches The ability to work closely and collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team and with clinical partners to ensure integrated, values‑led support The ability to thrive in a mobile, high‑pace environment, making sound decisions on the spot while maintaining calm, respectful, person‑centred practice.
