The Community Support Worker assists individuals in pursuing personal interests and goals while fostering community engagement and belonging. They ensure the safety, health, and well-being of clients while promoting independence and meaningful social connections.
Community Support Workers work with people to pursue activities in the community based on individual interests, gifts, and defined goals. This role supports people to become active members of the community discovering and engaging with places of belonging. Inclusive in this role are the following:
Ensuring that individuals are connected to friends and family.
Providing individuals with the opportunity to make meaningful choices.
Encouraging and recognizing individuals' contributions.
Ensuring that individuals are safe and to promote their health and well-being.
A key component may be to assist individuals gaining knowledge and skills to enhance their independence and/or ability to participate in their community. The position enhances the quality of life for people. The position functions as part of a team.

Qualifications: for this position include:
Graduation from a Community College with an appropriate diploma or certificate in Human Services OR an equivalent of education and experience.
Current First Aid & CPR, TB screen/self assessment, Vaccination/Immunization status disclosure.
A valid unrestricted BC Class 5 Driver’s License and use of personal vehicle required.
This position is open to all candidates. This position requires union membership and a clear Criminal Record Search.
Candidates must hold a diploma or certificate in Human Services or equivalent education and experience. A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License, personal vehicle, and current First Aid/CPR certification are required.
