Right now we are looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to work with our Surgical Inpatient Unit 11 East & West Employment Status: Temporary Full TimeDuration (if contract): April 2027 - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.Hours of Work: 8 or 12 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings, nights and/or weekends - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.Location: Humber River Health, Wilson SiteLabour Group: NOWUReporting Relationship: Manager, Surgical Inpatient 11 Unit East & WestHourly Rate: $38.893 - $39.458 Position Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for Registered Practical Nurse duties in on the Surgical Inpatient Unit.

Qualifications

Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program. Current Registered Practical Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current BCLS certification. Experience with patient health teaching. Demonstrated competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc. Demonstrated knowledge in assessment and management of patients with continuous peripheral nerve block (CPNB) and patient controlled analgesia (PCA) Minimum 1 year acute surgical experience, preferred. Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset. Knowledge of community resources. Excellent attendance and discipline free record required. An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset. Requirements

Candidates must hold a two-year diploma in Registered Practical Nursing and current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. A minimum of one year of acute surgical experience is preferred, along with current BCLS certification.
