The Physiotherapist is a key member of the interdisciplinary care team and will work to their full scope of practice to provide assessment, consultation, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions for clients and their caregivers. Responsibilities include the provision of safe, competent, and compassionate care through the application of professional knowledge, technical expertise, and a commitment to professionalism and respect.
This posting is being used to establish an applicant pool for future Physiotherapist vacancies within our organization. Qualified applicants may be considered for opportunities within the Primary Care Team (PCT) and/or Developmental Services (DS) programs as positions become available. Applicants will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and selected candidates may be contacted for interviews as vacancies arise.
Within the Primary Care Team, the Physiotherapist works with patients of all ages, caregivers, and community resources to assess needs, develop treatment plans, and provide interventions in clinic and community settings, including home visits.
Within Developmental Services, the Physiotherapist works with children and youth (ages 0–18), caregivers, school staff, and community partners to provide assessment, consultation, programming, and interventions in clinic, home, daycare, and school environments.
In both program areas, the Physiotherapist plays an essential role within the client's circle of care, collaborating with individuals, families, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal health, development, and quality of life.

Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Physiotherapy required; Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy may be considered depending on qualifications and experience.
- Registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as a practicing Physiotherapist is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare providers, community partners, clients, and caregivers.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills, with excellent assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention abilities.
- Knowledge and proficiency in current evidence-based physiotherapy practices and standards.
- Sound knowledge of normal and abnormal child development is considered an asset, particularly for positions supporting pediatric and developmental services.
- Ability to provide services in a variety of settings, both individually and in group environments.
- Experience delivering virtual services is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Computer proficiency, including experience with electronic client documentation and record-keeping systems.
- Experience working in First Nations communities and the ability to communicate in one of the First Nations dialects of the Sioux Lookout Zone is an asset.
- Persons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (OHRC, Part II, Special Employment).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the service area.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check.

- Roles and Responsibilities (All Programs)
- Conduct physiotherapy assessments utilizing clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based assessment techniques to identify client needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and modify individualized treatment plans and therapeutic programs in collaboration with clients, caregivers, families, and other stakeholders.
- Empower and support clients to improve functional abilities, independence, participation, and overall quality of life.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare providers, educators, community resources, and other service partners to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Provide client and family-centered education, counseling, and support regarding treatment goals, injury prevention, health promotion, rehabilitation, and functional independence.
- Evaluate home, school, workplace, and community environments to determine the need for specialized equipment, modifications, and supports.
- Recommend, arrange, and facilitate referrals to specialists, healthcare providers, and community services as required.
- Advocate on behalf of clients and families for services, equipment, funding, and navigation supports, including Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB), Jordan's Principle, and other provincial programs.
- Prescribe, recommend, and provide training on the use of adaptive and assistive equipment as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, reports, and client files in accordance with College standards and organizational policies and procedures.
- Exercise care and discretion in protecting confidential and sensitive client information.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and program development activities.
- Complete required reports and documentation following community visits, clinical activities, and stakeholder meetings.
- Primary Care Team (PCT)
- Provide assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for clients across the lifespan with a wide range of physical, developmental, emotional, and complex health needs.
- Deliver services in clinic, home, workplace, and community settings.
- Work collaboratively with clients and caregivers to support recovery, functional improvement, and community participation.
- Provide information and support regarding the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) and other equipment funding initiatives.
- Utilize a broad range of assessment tools and intervention approaches across diverse age groups and clinical presentations.
- Developmental Services (DS)
- Provide developmental screening, assessment, consultation, and intervention services for infants, children, and youth experiencing developmental and motor-related delays.
- Conduct assessments related to gross motor, fine motor, visual-perceptual-motor, mobility, and functional development.
- Develop and implement individualized developmental programming in collaboration with children, families, caregivers, school staff, and community partners.
- Deliver services in clinic, home, daycare, school, and community settings.
- Recommend environmental modifications and supports that enhance participation and developmental outcomes in home, school, and community environments.
- Support families and caregivers in building on children's strengths and achieving developmental goals through family-centered care.
- Working Conditions
