Registered Nurse, Surgical Day Care

Responsibilities

Care of patients pre-op and post-operatively. Care of patients post-diagnostic interventions. Care planning and coordination of care with various team members. Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care. Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted). Minimum 2 years recent surgical experience required. Minimum 2 year experience in a perioperative setting preferred. Post Anesthetic Care Certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in initiating IV therapy required. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors. Demonstrate good patient assessment skills. Successful completion of the Health assessment course preferred. Demonstrate excellent patient/family teaching skills. Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
