Reporting to the Program Manager, the Family Preservation Worker supports families through intake, case management, and goal setting while maintaining an active caseload. The role focuses on building positive relationships with parents, providing crisis intervention, and applying evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approaches to enhance family stability, problem-solving, and parenting skills. Key responsibilities include facilitating supportive visitation, delivering life skills training and psychoeducation, coordinating with MCFD social workers and community partners, and participating in integrated case management meetings. The position also requires maintaining accurate documentation, preparing timely progress reports, and representing the organization with professionalism in the community.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as Psychology, Child & Youth Care, or Sociology) or equivalent education and at least two years of recent experience working with vulnerable populations. A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License, an insured vehicle, and First Aid certification are required. Fluency in one or more of the following languages -- Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, or Punjabi, and Farsi-- is considered a strong asset to effectively serve families in the Family Enhancement Program.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
