The clinical team at Father David Bauer are passionate about enriching the health of their clients through a holistic approach. As the Occupational Therapist working with Complex Conditions you will help people regain function by teaching strategies to manage pain and participate in daily life, focusing on how to do activities through pacing, energy conservation, activity modification (like ergonomics or assistive devices), and integrating coping skills (mindfulness, psychotherapy) to manage physical and psychological impacts, rather than just eliminating pain. You will objectively assess a person's ability to perform daily and work-related tasks, identifying physical/cognitive limitations and guiding rehabilitation, return-to-work planning, accommodations, and support needs (like attendant care) for insurance/legal purposes.

The Occupational Therapist position requires working closely with an interdisciplinary team, including psychologists, physiotherapists, kinesiologists, and physicians. There is also plenty of opportunities to collaborate with other occupational therapists. • As one of the largest networks of OTs in the nation, you will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, delivering high-quality, client-centered care across multiple clinics, or specific clinic and community settings. Key skills and qualifications include:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
• 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred
• Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted
• Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required
• In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check
• In some cases, Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)

Other Requirements

• Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
• Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional developmen
• Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
• Proficiency in computer skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency in computer skills.
