Provide assessment and intervention for acute neurology patients, including stroke patients.

Contribute to department/program quality assurance initiatives.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Permanent Full Time Speech-language Pathologist | Acute Neurology at Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna, BC. Days of work: Monday to Friday, Days Shift times: 08:00 to 16:00

Join a dynamic and dedicated team of caring professionals as an autonomous professional who has expertise in typical development and disorders of communication/swallowing as well as assessment and intervention in these areas. The Speech-language Pathologist will work directly with clients and/or with their caregivers or other persons who regularly interact with these people for the purpose of creating environments that promote optimal communication and swallowing for adults requiring this care. The Speech-Language Pathologist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the department/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research and education. How will you create impact? The SLP has the potential to change the trajectory of our clients’ lives by improving their speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities. Who are we looking for? We are looking for an SLP with experience/preference that will include acute neurology and supporting stroke patients. The SLP will have excellent oral and written communication abilities & be able to connect with people from all types of backgrounds. The SLP will be creative in supporting clients’ goals while adhering to program guidelines and will be an active and engaged team member, able to respectfully communicate and resolve conflict in a timely manner.
