23-Jul-26About the Opportunity Respiratory Therapists have the responsibility for the initiation and management of mechanical ventilation (life support) and also act as an expert of advanced airway management in all areas of the institution. They deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gasses, aerosolized medications and high humidity therapies. They also perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing. Respiratory Therapists act as part of the multidisciplinary health care team to help achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status, and assess, plan, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care and airway management for patients. There may be other Respiratory Therapy duties such as patient or staff education sessions.About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy Current registration with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Respiratory Therapy Must hold/maintain certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels Travel to other sites may be required Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Effective planning, organizing and supervising abilities Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Must be adaptable and flexible to adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
