About the role

Provide compassionate, person-centred support to adults with developmental disabilities, ASD, and FASD to promote independence and quality of life. Responsibilities include extensive hands-on homemaking, personal care, and assisting clients with community participation and daily living skills.

Education · Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent. · Current Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification. · Current Food Safe Certificate. · Relevant education in Human Services, Social Services, Disability Support, Community Living, Health Care Assistance, or a related field is considered an asset.

Experience & Qualifications · Minimum 2 years of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), or other complex support needs. · Experience providing homemaking, housekeeping, household management, personal care, and activities of daily living support. · Comfortable working in diverse home environments, including homes requiring significant cleaning, organization, and decluttering support. · Experience supporting individuals to develop independence, life skills, healthy routines, and meaningful participation in their homes and communities. · Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills. · Ability to work independently, maintain professional boundaries, and follow individualized care plans. · Experience using person-centred, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and positive behaviour support approaches is considered an asset. · Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are considered strong assets.

Additional Requirements · Comfortable performing hands-on homemaking and housekeeping duties, including cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, laundry, vacuuming, mopping, decluttering, and general household organization. · Comfortable working in homes with pets, odors, clutter, and other environmental challenges while maintaining professionalism, respect, and a non-judgmental approach. · Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
